Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday vouched for net neutrality but warned against its misuse by companies.

"I think net neutrality should be given, but also we should make sure that it is not misused later on," Manish Sisodia told ANI here.

"After giving access to the people, such activities should not become profit making for the companies," he added.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal too pledged his support for net neutrality.

"AAP committed to neutral internet. India MUST debate #NetNeutrality. I support #Saveinternet campaign," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology RS Prasad said that his ministry has constituted a committee for the same.

"The IT Ministry has constituted a committee on the net neutrality issue. The report will have to be submitted by the second week of May," he said.

Net neutrality promises all content on the internet to be treated equally and not discriminating on the basis of user, content, platform, and so on.

At present, India has no laws with respect to net neutrality.
