Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday said the Finance Ministers of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi have given their nod to uniform taxation, which will help prevent black marketing and bogus refunds.

Sisodia said the Finance Ministers of the four states met here today and took some important decisions in this regard.

"The biggest consent was that there must be uniform taxation, especially in the north Indian states, to avoid black marketing, theft of tax, bogus refunds. The four states have agreed to it. Another decision taken today is to join the other states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Jammu Kashmir in this," Sisodia told ANI here.

"Another major decision that we have taken is to set up Economic Intelligence Unit, a network of all north Indian states, so that investigation related to any case is done properly and we are able to cooperate with each other. We will set all these in one and a half month...... To work out the modalities, a Secretary-level committee has been formed which will carry forward all the decisions," he added.
