Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed in his attempt to build trust in the people and questioned his claim to make Delhi slum-free by 2022.

Sisodia, who was reacting to the speech made by Prime Minister Modi at the BJP's rally in Ramlila Maidan yesterday, alleged that the ruling party has done nothing for the people of Delhi.

"There was nothing in the Prime Minister's speech that could build trust in the people. He said that pucca houses will be made in place of every slum till 2022. In a way, he asked the people to vote for him and make him the Prime Minister for the second time," said Sisodia.

"And likewise, M.L. Khattar became the Chief Minister of Haryana, once again you have to vote for him and make him the CM for the second time then only pucca houses will be made in place of the slums. I want to ask when you will start, from where you will start, do you have any budget? You should have started last time. Why did not you? They have done nothing," he added.

Sisodia further asked as to why Prime Minister Modi should wait till 2022 wants to build up houses in place of the slums.

"If the Prime Minister wants to build up houses in place of the slums, then why wait till 2022. Why the people have to live in such conditions till 2022," he said.

Prime Minister Modi, who launched his party's campaign for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections at the Ramlila Maidan here yesterday, promised to take Delhi to new heights of development.

Prime Minister Modi said the people will be given an option of choosing their power service provider on the lines of mobile number portability and pledged to make Delhi slum-free by 2022.

He also promised to usher in a corruption-free system, saying it has been started at the top and gradually it will reach down to colonies.

Taking a dig at the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, Prime Minister Modi said the image of Delhi can't be tarred by anarchy.

"If somebody is an anarchist, he should go to the jungles and join the Naxals. Do not allow Delhi's pride to be affected by anarchy. Delhi will not benefit from it," he said.

Referring to Kejriwal-led government's resignation after being in power for 49 days last year, Prime Minister Modi said the people should punish those because of whom one year of Delhi was wasted.
