Sitharaman invites US investment in India

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman has called upon American investors to invest in the development of infrastructure in India.

Speaking at the 40th leadership Summit of US-India Business Council (USIBC), she said the Indian Government had taken several measures, both executive and legislative, to ease business environment. "Indian states have been ranked and we are emerging as one of the most favoured business destinations for the investors," she added.

Highlighting the role of Indian investors in the United States, Sitharaman said, "Indian investors has also been coming to the US in a big way, investing in big deal and are creating big jobs opportunities. So this relationship is to give strength and to draw strength from each others' investments and also the commitment to contributing towards each other's economy."

 

She underlined that 65 per cent of India' population was of 35 years of age and most of them were going through engineering and medical qualifications. "With this kind of manpower, we are looking to create better facility and living conditions all around the world.
