Australia cricket team captain Michael Clarke has been named in the first Test team and would lead his players out in Tuesday's match against India, with late batsman Phillip Hughes named as honorary 13th man of the squad.
Clarke hasn't played a match since last month when he suffered a third left hamstring injury in 12 weeks, but after the extraordinary leadership the skipper displayed in the wake of Hughes' tragic passing, he's proved his fitness and would now continue that role on the field at Adelaide Oval.
Meanwhile, for the pace attack selectors have decided to go with the tried and true trio of Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris and Peter Siddle, which means young NSW fast bowler Josh Hazlewood would have to wait for his Test debut, News.com.au reported.
Hughes' would reportedly be the honorary 13th man for the hosts' squad in the first Test in the late batsman's adopted hometown of Adelaide.
Hughes would be with his grieving teammates everywhere they look on Tuesday, with his Test number (408) to be worn underneath the crest on every player's shirt.
Governor-general Sir Peter Cosgrove spoke to the players on Monday and emphasised that Hughes would always be their 13th man.
The batting line-up originally chosen for the Brisbane Test, before Hughes' passing, has stayed the same, with opener David Warner bravely deciding to shoulder his personal struggles and play, which means Shaun Marsh would miss out in Adelaide.
The current 13-man Australian squad would stay the same for the second Test at the Gabba.
