Sky News cameraman Mick Deane was shot and killed in Egypt while covering the recent violence in Cairo over the crackdown of security forces on civilians demanding the release of Mohamed Morsi and other Muslim Brotherhood leaders.

The Head of Sky News John Ryley said that Mick was the best cameramen, a brilliant journalist with a first class editorial brain and an inspiring mentor, Sky News reports.

The 61 year old had worked for Sky News for 15 years, was married and a father of two, the report added. According to the report, the rest of the team was unhurt.

Foreign Affairs Editor Tim Marshall said Mick was brave as a lion and a very good human being, while Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "I am saddened to hear of the death of cameraman Mick Deane, covering Egyptian violence. My thoughts are with his family and the Sky News team.
