Former England footballer David Beckham has reportedly been drafted by British broadcasting group Sky to help fight their would-be rival BT.
BT has threatened to move into Sky's territory with the launch next week of its sports channel showing Premier League football.
According to The Sun, British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC has hit back at BT over the past few weeks with its wall-to-wall adverts starring Beckham.
However, Sky chief Jeremy Darroch is not worried by BT's threat, saying that theirs is a business which loves competition, as he unveiled record results showing a nine per cent rise in profits for the year to 1.33 billion pounds.
Meanwhile, the 75th anniversary issue of Beano has Beckham and former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson teaming up once again in a release full of stars.
Beckham and Ferguson meet in Beanotown in the comic and an undercover Dennis the Menace helps Beckham find a home, but the problem is that it is beside the Scot's new house.
