Slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare's wife Kavita dies following brain haemorrhage

Her vital organs have been donated to needy patients at the hospital as per the instructions of her children

Kavita Karkare, the widow of slain former Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare, passed away on Monday following brain haemorrhage.

She was in coma and was declared brain dead at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. She is survived by three children.

Kavita's husband, Hemant Karkare, then Maharashtra ATS chief, died defending Mumbai in the November 26, 2008 attacks.

Her vital organs have been donated to needy patients at the hospital as per the instructions of her children.
