Following the beheading of another US journalist, Steven Sotloff, the family of the slain journalist has asked the IS leader to answer for the sin he committed with the execution of Sotloff.
The American journalist's family broke its silence soon after the US intelligence confirmed the video released by the IS was authentic.
Reading out from a statement, the family spokesperson, Barak Barfi said that the family had a message for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and cited passages from the Quran, asking him why he violated the tenets, the CNN reported.
The family said in the statement that they were debating the leader with kindness and not with a sword in the hands, and said they were ready for an answer.
While the family expressed grief, it said that it would not let the extremists to hold them hostage with the sole weapon they possess, which was fear, adding they will not forget what had happened.
The beheading of Sotloff comes within days after the execution of American journalist James Foley, who was slaughtered in a similar fashion.
US President Barack Obama said that the US will not be intimidated by the executions of its two journalists and warned that those who made the mistake of harming Americans will be put to justice.
