Australian skipper Steven Smith has said he is not worried about playing against the pink ball in day and night matches, and added that he is looking forward to it.

A Sydney Morning Herald report said that the pink ball received negative reviews from members of the Prime Ministers XI (Australia annual cricket match) following their one-day match against New Zealand.

Top-order batsman Adam Voges had critisized the pink ball, saying that it didn't hold up very well.

Smith said he had not played with the pink ball as yet, and added that his side might find out more about the ball after their next week's domestic match (Sheffield Shield) against New Zealand.

He also felt that the pink ball would attract a greater audience and bring something new in cricket.

The Prime Minister XI tour and the upcoming Sheffield Shield are preparatory matches for first ever day-night Test between Australia and New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval from November 27.
