Around 125 students of Institute of Design & Technology got the opportunity to interact with Minister of Textiles - Smriti Zubin Irani at the inaugural ceremony of the very first edition of Yarn Expo at the Surat International Exhibition & Convention Centre (SIECC), Surat.

Organized by Southern Gujarat Chambers of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI), the conclave highlighted issues related to textile industries and Smriti came up with an idea that Design Institute should work in conjunction with the textile industries, which will provide future opportunities to the market and unemployed sectors as well.

Keeping in mind the Expo, IDT students made Friendship Day Belts, using Yarn as the base. They presented the same to Smriti Irani as a token of respect.

IDT feels proud and obliged at the same time to the team members of SGCCI, who provided us with this great opportunity to be a part of the conclave.
