Expressing grief over the horrific Nangloi rape case where a two-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped, former IPS officer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kiran Bedi on Sunday said incidents such as these marks the failure of the society as a whole.
Bedi said parental failure is the first cause of all these crimes.
"Blame game is not the solution, Finding out why is this happening, which section of society, which role is failing more is important," she told ANI.
"And when such crimes happen, particularly against women, children or particular section of the society, it is a social failure; it is a failure of the society as a whole. And society comprises of families, communities, leadership, criminal justice system, all have a role to play. Only one agency doesn't have all the roles to play. All of them collectively have a role play," she added.
The Delhi Police had last night arrested two juveniles in connection with the Nangloi rape case after more than 250 suspects from the locality were rounded up and questioned.
The police were initially trying to trace a motorcycle, which was seen in the CCTV footage. Two men were apparently seen carrying the girl with them.
