South Korean President Park Geun-hye has asked North Korea for an apology for landmines that injured two of the country's soldiers, threatening that the cross-border propaganda broadcasts will continue until Pyongyang apologies.

According to the BBC, North Korea has threatened to use force to stop the broadcasts, ratcheting up tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Round two of high-level talks between North and South Korea have continued through a second night.

The countries' militaries are on alert after a brief exchange of fire at the border on Thursday.
