The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said that the Samajwadi Party enacted a scripted drama in the name of its silver jubilee celebration to drag Uttar Pradesh public's attention away from major areas of concern.
"For the past two months, a drama is going on in Uttar Pradesh by the Samajwadi Party in which all kinds of emotions are being showcased. Today (Saturday), it was a day of comic nonsense, as comedy king Lalu Prasad Yadav was there and he performed a comedy. They performed a drama of togetherness," BJP leader Rajesh Tripathi told ANI.
On Saturday, the ruling Samajwadi Party celebrated its silver jubilee foundation day in Lucknow which witnessed the grand attendance of the Janata family with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) leader HD Deve Gowda and JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav.
At the event, Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at his uncle and state party president Shivpal Yadav and said the 'sword that has been gifted to him shall definitely be used.
"Aapne mujhe talwar bhent ki hai, aur talwar doge toh chalayenge hi (You have given me the sword, obviously we would use it)," Akhilesh said.
