20th Century Fox's Melissa McCarthy starrer 'Spy' is at the top of US box office with 30 million dollars earnings from 3,777 theaters.
According to Deadline.com, Warner Bros.' 'San Andreas' came second with 26.4 million dollars, 'Insidious Chapter 3' earned 23 million dollars from 3,002 theaters and 'Entourage' 10.4 million.
Chernin Entertainment's 'Spy' drew mostly females with 60 percent with most of the lot over 25 years of age.
The Paul Feig-directed film was initially scheduled to release over Memorial Day weekend, but Fox moved the date to June.
20th Century Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson said that at the time they felt that there had been a lot of female traffic in May with 'Pitch Perfect 2' and 'Hot Pursuit,' and hence wanted some space.
