Sri Lankan all-rounder Farveez Maharoof, who played his last international match in March 2012, has been recalled to the national squad for the upcoming ODI series against Ireland and England.

The 31-year-old, who appeared in 22 Tests, 104 ODIs and seven T20 internationals for Lanka, was the leading wicket-taker in the side's List A competition in 2015-16, taking a total of 16 wickets in five matches at an average of 6.31.

Besides Maharoof, all-rounder Danushka Gunathilaka, leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna, off-spinner Suraj Randiv and batsman Upul Tharanga have been named in the squad to face England.

The Angelo Mathews-led side, however, will be without the services of spinner Rangana Herath, who retired from limited-overs cricket in April, as well as without fast bowlers Dhammika Prasad and Dushmantha Chameera, who were ruled out of the tour due to their respective injuries.

Sri Lanka are scheduled to play two ODIs against Ireland in Dublin on June 16 and 18 before they return to England for a five-match ODI series starting from June 21 at Trent Bridge.
