The governor of Sri Lanka's Central Province, Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, has resigned.
He is expected to formally submit his resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena on Monday.
Kobbekaduwa was appointed as the Central Province Governor in 2005. His tenure in office was scheduled to end in December this year.
Kobbekaduwa had earlier told a local radio station that governors of all provinces had received letters requiring their resignation.
