Sri Lanka's new foreign minister to visit India on January 18

Sri Lanka's new Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera will visit India on January 18.

The visit will take place on an invitation extended to him by by his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj.

Samaraweera and Swaraj spoke on Tuesday and during the conversation, the invitation to visit New Delhi was extended.

This will be the first high level exchange between the two countries since Maithripala Sirisena came into power on January 8.
