A mesmerising music festival in Srinagar organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) provided a welcome spring break for residents of the city.

Folk artist Raja Bilal left the audience spellbound with his performance.

ICCR regional director Ayaz Rasool Nazki said music brings peace, and added that the festival had been organised to wish everyone a blissful spring.

"We have organised this musical evening to ensure that the coming spring, which also brings a new year along, is blissful and colourful for all people," said Nazki.

"Our culture is blessed with rich music, and this has been an integral part of our tradition. So what could be better than to welcome spring with the magic of music," he said.

Bilal enthralled the audience with his own folk compositions, which spoke of beauty, colours, nature, culture and tradition of the land.

The musical evening truly exemplified the concern and passion of love for humanity without any bias for language, region and religion which have been an integral part of Kashmiri culture.
