Additional Director General (ADG) Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Surjeet Singh Deswal, on Thursday, paid floral tributes to Head Constable (HC) Ram Parvesh Yadav of SSB 14 Bn , who was martyred as militants opened fire on a search party at Nogam Banihal in Ramban district of Kashmir.
Inspector General Operational Ashok Kumar, DIG Rajinder Singh, Commandant Ajay Kumar, Commandant Sanjeev Yadav, SSP Ramban Mohan Lal, ADC Gurvinder Jit Singh, ACR Vivek Puri and officials from civil and police administration also reached there to pay rich tributes to HC Ram Parvesh Yadhv in a solemn ceremony at district police line Ramban.
Earlier on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed that the firing incident outside the SSB post near the Jawahar Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir killed one trooper and injured another.
The attack was carried out on the 14th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal at about 7:15 p.m.
The SSB party, which is responsible for security of the Banihal Tunnel, was returning from duty.
