The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said here on Wednesday that the recently concluded Strategic and Commercial Dialogue between India-United States, has set the stage for the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Barack Obama which is scheduled on September 28th.
"This was the first time we were meeting in this format, earlier this was called India-US strategic dialogue. Stage has been set for the meeting to take forward the very productive exchange of views between India and the U.S." MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup told the media here.
US Secretary of State John Kerry said earlier that President Obama is very much looking forward to meet Prime Minister Modi at the United Nations next week.
The nature for the dialogue ahead of Prime Minister Modi's third summit meeting with President Obama next week was set yesterday with US Vice President Joe Biden saying, "Our goal is to become India's best friend.
