Star Wars' Jawa collectible was bought for 10,200 pounds at Vectis Auction House in Thornaby, Teeside.

The reason behind the high cost of the tiny toy is the fact that its cape is made from vinyl, instead of a cloth, The Daily Star reported.

The Jawa is one of the just two known figures of its type left in existence and was sold in its original packaging.

The Jawa features prominently in the series as a species of scavengers that scour the fictional desert planet of Tatooine for scraps and wayward droids.
