Stars pay tribute to 'Can't Buy Me Love' star Amanda Peterson

The news of 80's Hollywood star Amanda Peterson's death have left many celebs and fans mourning.

According to the reports, the actress, who played Patrick Dempsey's love interest Cindy Mancini in the 1987's teen flick 'Can't Buy Me Love', was found dead in her Greeley, Colorado, home on Sunday. She was 43.

Sarah Michelle Gellar took to Twitter to pay tribute to the actress writing, "When I was younger, I used to want to be #AmandaPeterson. I even asked my mom for white leather fringe jacket #RipAmandaPeterson."

'Scrubs' star Donald Faison also tweeted, "Cindy Mancini was my first crush. RIP Amanda Peterson."

Though the reason for her death is still unknown, Peterson's father told TMZ.com that she was suffering from "some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed."

 

Peterson, who is survived by second husband David Hartley and two children, was last seen in 1994's 'Windrunner.
