Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius' deceased girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp's family would be in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Thursday to attend the blade runner's judgement for his murder trial.

Judge Thokozile Masipa will begin handing down judgement in the murder trial of Pistorius, who shot Steenkamp dead on Valentine's Day last year.

Steenkamp's uncle Michael Steenkamp said on Wednesday that the family would be there, her parents would be there. Steenkamp's uncle would also attend the judgment day along with his wife and daughter, Sport24 reported.

Michael said that the family is not doing too good in this anxious period and they are just waiting for this period to end, and added that they leave it in the Lord's hands.

Pistorius has said that he thought an intruder was behind the door of the toilet in his Pretoria home when he shot through it. He fired four times, killing his girlfriend Steenkamp.

The State has said that the murder was premeditated.

When the trial started on 3 March, Pistorius pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, and to three firearm-related charges.

Pistorius's family, including sister Aimee, brother Carl and uncle Arnold have been at almost every court appearance since the trial started on 3 March, the report added.
