Former Australia skipper Steve Waugh has said that New Zealand would go into the highly anticipated World Cup clash against Australia as 'favourites' at Eden Park on Saturday.
While Brendon McCullum's men have won all three of their World Cup matches, Australia won only one against England, with their second game against Bangladesh washed out.
The 1999 World Cup winning skipper said that New Zealand would be probably entitled to be favourites in this game, adding that they had played three games so they were in the groove and were probably confident and relaxed, at the peak of their powers, Stuff.co.nz reported.
However, Waugh claimed that the Kiwis would hate to think they're favourites, insisting that it would be nice to see them under a bit of pressure with the expectation to beat Australia and see how they handle that.
