A police officer in Stockholm was stabbed on Thursday resulting in a lockdown.
"The officer was stabbed in the stairwell of a metro station at Medborgarplatsen", the officials said.
The entire square and a nearby nursery have been sealed off.
Witnesses on social media said the attacker 'snuck up behind the policeman' and stabbed him 'unprovoked'.
The nursery is attended by 70 children.

There are no indications the building is in danger, a police officer said, adding that we have a number of patrols.
The police were alerted of the incident at 10:30 am local time.
A manhunt for the attacker is now underway.
