Urging all the political parties to stop playing blame game, Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave on Monday said the priority is to make air pollution free so that the people can breathe.
"There must not be blame game here. Right now the priority is to make air pollution free so that the people can breathe. We will issue an environment protection calendar which will be state specific. Dust is one of the major reasons for pollution," Dave told ANI.
"Till the state government takes initiatives immediately no issue would be solved. They must sprinkle water and do the needful on time," he added.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) earlier today slammed the Delhi Government and three other neighbouring states - Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan-- over its inaction to curb air pollution in the capital.
"Why weren't preventive steps taken to curb air pollution?" the green panel asked Delhi Government.
The NGT decided to knock on the doors of the Supreme Court over the issue which has affected millions of Delhiites.
