The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said lashed out at the leaders of various political parties for politicising the Dadri lynching incident and added that this move is being outrightly rejected by the locals.
"Those who are the local representatives, whether they are Members of Parliament or other representatives, it is obvious for them to go and natural for them to go and visit the family. However, those who are going from outside, it is evident that they must be doing it for political capital," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI here.
"The people there are rejecting it and it is also obvious that no political capital can be made on this," he added.
The BJP leader further said that there was no problem with the meeting between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and the victim's family.
"They can do so, after all he is the CM of the state and you can't politicise that. However, we will hope that the Samajwadi Party does not try to politicise this," he said.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister today announced Rs. 45 lakh as ex-gratia to the family members of Mohammad Akhlaq, who was beaten to death in Dadri's Bishada village over rumours that he had stored beef at his residence.
