Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik on Tuesday said that the state government would take stringent action against the culprits pertaining to the mob violence in Bulandshahr in which two persons, including a police inspector, died.

Naik told reporters, "The incident that took place yesterday, it is condemnable. The Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) has given orders for a probe. I hope the truth will be out in two days as he said. Strict action will be taken against those who committed this crime. Whatever may be the reason, such incidents cannot be allowed."

Echoing similar sentiments, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the state government is taking proper steps and an order for investigation has been given.

"The (Uttar Pradesh) Government is taking up proper steps and an order for investigation has been given. Stringent actions will be taken against the culprits," Sharma said.

On Monday, Station House Officer (SHO) Subodh Kumar Singh and a local youth were killed in Bulandshahr when a mob went on a rampage after cattle carcass was allegedly found in the fields. The death of the cop in the violence raked up a controversy with various claims doing rounds how he died.

Following the incident, the administration deployed police forces to ensure peace and protection in the area.

Adityanath, meanwhile, has called for a meeting with officials at his residence in Lucknow on Tuesday at around 8:30 pm, over the law and order situation in the state.
