Most of the streets out of the 900 that were named Martin Luther King Jr, are struggling and are host to drug markets and pawn shops line.
According to newser.com, parts of the 12-mile drive in Chicago, which was named after the civil rights activist, are in bad shape and have serious crime problems, while the MLK Boulevard in Miami goes through a poor part of the city that has seen race riots.
A 17-year-old from Miami said that he is sure that King didn't have this in his dream and a lot of kids are dying of gang violence in this community.
Another person from one of the streets said that it is ironical how these conditions prove that past actually works in a way to symbolize that the struggle still prevails.
