Students of Chennais Amirta create record in employment history of hospitality sector

Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management, a globally reputed name in imparting hospitality education, has broke its last year record with its 2,587 students getting job offers in one go. The students were selected for different positions in hospitality sector during the grand job fair 'Talent Track 2017' conducted recently (from 15th to 17th March) at its college premises at OMR. Around 180 star hotels and leading restaurants from various parts of the country partook in the fair.

Well Reputed Star properties of Chennai like ITC Grand Chola, Taj Group, Oberoi Group, Hyatt Regency, Shangri La, Radisson Blu, The Park, Rain Tree and over 100 delegates from the star hotels of Mumbai, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa, Kovai, Puducherry have recruited students and issued spot offer letters.

 

Out of 2600 students participated in the fair, 2,587 got selected and across services namely Food and beverage service (1090 students), Front office (185), Housekeeping (499) and Food production including Bakery (813 students). J. Meena, student of two year Diploma of IPD stream is one among the winner of Higher Salary Package of Rs. 20,000 at Hotel Keys Cochin - A Leading Star Property of Kerala.

"According to AICTE's recent report about 20 lakh engineering graduates are jobless. On the contrary, thousands of students of Chennais Amirta have secured jobs even before completion of their hospitality courses, standing evidence to the wide opportunities the hospitality domain has and the quality of education provided at Chennais Amirta," said R. Boominathan, CEO of the institute.

It is worth mentioning that last year, as many as 2286 students of Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management have secured positions in 160 leading enterprises of the hospitality industry and set an employment record.
