Daniel Sturridge scored the decisive goal in the stoppage time as England bounced back from one goal down to defeat Wales 2-1 in a pulsating Group B contest at the Euro 2016 in Paris on Thursday.

Gareth Bale scored his second goal of the tournament to put his Welsh team ahead with a stunning free-kick from 30 yards in the 42nd minute, the Mirror reported.

However, England coach Roy Hodgson decision to replace Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane with James Vardy and Sturridge respectively at half time turned out to be crucial.

While Leicester City star striker Vardy netted a scrappy equaliser ten minutes after the break, Sturridge snatched the victory two minutes before the final whistle.

With the win, England are currently leading the points table and need just a draw against Slovakia in their next match to go through to the knockouts.

Meanwhile, Wales need a win against Russia in their final group match to advance to the knockout stage.
