FIFA has suspended Uruguay striker Luis Suarez from all football-related activity for four months for taking a chunk out of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini's shoulder.
In addition to the four-month ban, the Liverpool player has also been banned for nine international matches that rules him out of the rest of the rest of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
According to the BBC, Suarez will also miss the first nine games of the Premier League season.
Uruguay said that they would appeal, calling it an 'excessive decision' for which there was not enough evidence.
Uruguay Football Association president Wilmar Valdez said that he has seen more aggressive incidents recently, adding that it is a severe punishment.

Valdez said that he does not know exactly which arguments they used but it is a tough punishment for Suarez.
The striker has also been fined 1,00,000 Swiss francs for the incident, which occurred on Tuesday as Uruguay beat Italy 1-0 to finish second in Group D and qualify for the knockout stage in Brazil.
Suarez's ban is the biggest in World Cup history, beating the eight games given to Italy's Mauro Tassotti for elbowing Spain's Luis Enrique in 1994, the report added.
