Liverpool star Luis Suarez has reportedly committed his future with the Premier League side by signing a new long-term contract.
The Uruguayan has been in impressive form after a turbulent summer in which he suggested the club had reneged on an agreement to sell him if they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
According to Sport24, after the club confirmed the deal, Suarez wrote in the club's website that he is delighted to have agreed to a new deal and have his future secured for the long term, adding that the backing that he received from the side's fans has influenced his decision.
Suarez further said that he is proud to represent Liverpool and perform his best every time he takes the field, adding that he believes that he can achieve the ambitions of winning trophies and playing at the very highest level with Liverpool.
Although Liverpool did not specify the length of Suarez's new deal, it is expected to make the striker the best-paid player in the club's history, with manager Brendan Rodgers saying that securing Suarez's services is crucial for what the club is trying to achieve given that he is a world-class talent.
Rodgers also said that at just 26 years old, Suarez's best years are still ahead of him and the club now knows that they would be seeing him reach that potential in a Liverpool shirt.
