As the final of FIFA World Cup 2014 is just some hours away, famed sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik created a representative sand sculpture of the cup at a beach in Puri.

The FIFA World Cup final will be played today between Argentina and Germany.

Patnaik created an eight feet high sand sculpture of the World Cup trophy along with the national flags of the two finalists and the faces of two captains, Lionel Messi of Argentina and Philipp Lahm of Germany, with a message "Goal for Gold Cup".

Patnaik, who wished both teams good luck, created the sculpture with five tonnes of coloured sand and completed it in seven hours with the help of his students.

"The final match that is going to be held is one of the biggest matches in the FIFA World Cup as everybody is curious to know who will emerge victorious. And so, we created this sculpture in Puri beach where the two captains and the national flags of the finalists can be seen along with the World Cup. This will attract a lot more tourists, especially football fans," said Patnaik.
