A group of foreign tourists are on a tour of Kashmir Valley these days with the special aim to visit the famous Sufi shrines and to understand true Sufism.
The group, comprising of ten middle aged ladies from Australia, Brazil, America and Denmark, has so far visited most of the revered shrines in the Valley, including the shrine of Sufi poet Rahman Dar in downtown Srinagar.
Speaking to ANI, Petrosa, a tourist from Brazil said, "The song that we heard, was very special. It was profound and very different. It's very nice to see how the people are involved with the songs and the celebrations."
Anna Marry, another tourist from Australia said, "We felt very welcomed by the people. It was a beautiful experience. I felt honoured to be allowed to hear the music. I don't understand the language but my heart could hear the music".
The group was given a warm welcome wherever they went and were greeted by the elders as well as the ladies in downtown.
The group said that they felt mesmerized after listening to the famous Sufi music at the tomb of Sufi Rahman Dar.
The women had earlier also been to Dharamsala and other religious places in India and hope to come back and visit the rest of the shrines in the Valley.
