Saddened over the death of a farmer at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally, Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday said that the suicide note claimed the man was disowned by his father due to crop damage.
"Don't want to politicize this, but sad that such an environment has been created in the nation, saddening. Suicide note states that he was from Rajasthan, has three children and was disowned by father due to crop damage," he said.
"I heard that the rally continued and no one tried to stop or save him (farmer)," he added.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier in the day met the relatives of the farmer who committed suicide at the venue of an AAP farmer rally in the Jantar Mantar area.
The farmer from Dausa committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
The farmer was brought down and rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Doctors, however, declared him brought dead.
