Sukma attack: PM Modi offers condolences to families of martyrs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his condolences to the families of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel killed in the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

"Saddened by the killing of CRPF personnel in Sukma. Tributes to the martyrs & condolences to their families. May the injured recover quickly," he tweeted.

Prime Minister Modi also spoke to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the situation in Sukma in the wake of the attack.

"Spoke to Home Minister @rajnathsingh Ji on the situation in Sukma. He is going to Sukma to take stock of the situation," he tweeted.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has also strongly condemned the attack and termed it as extremely 'shameful'.

 

Singh saluted the CRPF jawans martyred in the attack.

At least eleven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from 219 battalion were killed and six others critically injured in a Maoist attack near Bhejji in Sukma district.
