The Indian men's hockey team, led by PR Sreejesh, will aim to begin the new season on a strong note when they take on Great Britain in the first match of the 26th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup here today.

Besides these two, four other nations Malaysia, Australia, Japan and New Zealand - are taking part in the 8-day tournament which will be held in a round-robin format. Pakistan is not playing in the competition this year.

India finished as a runner-up to nine-time champions Australia in the last edition of the tournament and Harmanpreet Singh played a crucial role in the team's success.

India last played Great Britain at the 36th Champions Trophy in London last year, where the former side emerged as victorious by 2-1.
