Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday challenged the Delhi Police to successfully solve the Sunanda Pushkar murder case.
"For the first seven-eight months they (police) did nothing. According to a report a newspaper, there was one very senior police official who sabotaged the investigation," Swamy told ANI.
"So, now the police is also on test and they must do a thorough job," he added.
Swamy has also alleged that former union minister Shashi Tharoor knew about his wife's killer, adding that the Congress leader has been trying to cover up the case.
Pushkar, who married Tharoor in 2010, was found dead a year ago at a five-star hotel in the national capital. She had checked into The Leela Hotel in Chanakyapuri a day before her death on January 17, 2014.
Tharoor's aides said the couple had checked into the luxury hotel because of renovation work at his Delhi bungalow.
Prior to her death, Sunanda was embroiled in a spat with Pakistan-based journalist, Mehr Tarar, whom she accused of stalking her husband.
