Indirectly referring to the Congress Party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said he was surprised that people who couldn't do anything for the country after being in power for nearly 60 years, were seeking answers from the NDA Government's on its progress in 60 days.
"I am surprised that the people (Congress) who couldn't do anything for the country after being in power for 60 years, are asking the NDA Government what progress they have made in 60 days," said Modi, while addressing a national council meeting in the capital.
"Winning the Lok Sabha polls was a result of team effort in which Rajnath Singh was the captain of the team and Amit Shah was the man of the match, and I am sure that Amit Shah will carry out the responsibilities given to him by the party," he said.
"Even poll pundits had tough time in the Lok Sabha polls. They began with a perception that no one knew Modi outside the state of Gujarat and to accept a fast changing perception is difficult. People were in a mood to support us. People have done their work, and now it is time for us to do ours," he added.
