A survivor of the Denmark shooting at a cafe during a free speech where one person was killed and three police officers injured has described her experience saying that it was "surreal".
According to ABC News, Helle Merete Brix, one of the organizers of the meeting titled "Art, Blasphemy and Freedom of Expression," said that the bloodshed could have been worse.
She said that the security officials "reacted very quickly" and if they had not shot back, then the attack could have resulted in something like the Charlie Hebdo massacre.
When the shooting started, nobody knew what was going on, Brix said. She was conducting the meeting at the time when suddenly the security officials told everybody to run as fast as they could.
Brix said that it was important to speak up for the freedom of speech and that people can agree and disagree in a "civilized manner".
