Bihar BJP leader Sushil Modi on Tuesday said he had done nothing wrong by promising colour televisions and laptops to the people after the government is formed in Bihar.

Reacting to reports of a First Information Report (FIR) being lodged against him for luring voters Modi said, "Isn't it our right to inform people about things we will do in their interest if our government is formed? I haven't said anything wrong, every party announces its agenda for the people and I have done the same."

"This is our right to tell the voters what are our plans for the voters. If the officers are not having this much of an idea, I really don't care about such FIRs," he added.

Modi also said his announcement of laptops and colour televisions were similar to that of providing electricity and building roads.

"We are not giving them clothes and colour televisions during the elections, I said we will be giving them after our government assumes office. I will repeat it a thousand times that we will provide TV sets to the backwards and would distribute laptops among 50000 students," he added.

Modi further said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been announcing new projects, so why was there no FIR against him?

Modi has been accused of violating the Model Code of Conduct in poll-bound Bihar.
