External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday was discharged from the AIIMS hospital here, after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery.
According to the statement from the hospital, Swaraj who underwent kidney transplant operation on 10th December , has shown steady recovery.
"Her postoperative recovery was closely monitored by a Team of Transplant Surgeons, Physicians (Nephrologist, Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, Pulmonologist) and Anaesthesist & Critical care expert, Physiotherapist, Resident doctors and Specialised Transplant Nurses," the AIIMS spokesperson said in a statement.
Swaraj, who has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years, was admitted to AIIMS on November 7th.
She was shifted out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last week and was recovering well, AIIMS Director Dr MC Mishra had said.

The 64-year-old BJP leader was admitted to AIIMS in April also when she underwent treatment for pneumonia and other health issues.
However, despite being in the hospital Swaraj was seen keeping track of the news reports and responding when she could.
On Sunday, she still took time out to offer help to the widow, who lost her husband in Japan recently.
Responding to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal's request, the minister said, "We (Government) will bear all the expenses and do this without delay."
Her response to the Indian comes just days after Foreign Policy magazine named her a 'Global Thinker' for her use of 'novel Twitter diplomacy'.
