ANI Quetta (Pakistan)

Militants reportedly blew up a 24-inch gas pipeline in Balochistan's resource-rich Dera Bugti District on Monday.

The explosion took place at the gas pipeline in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti district, the Dawn reports.

As a result, gas supply from Pir Koh to the purification plant has been suspended.

Frontier Corps and Levies personnel are reportedly at the blast site to determine the extent of the damage caused and to find leads if any to those behind the incident.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, but security officials say Baloch separatists are behind the attack.

The sabotage of gas pipelines is a characteristic tactic of tribal militants and is frequently witnessed in Balochistan.
