The suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Abdur Rahman, who was arrested from Cuttack in Odisha last week, was asked to recruit youths to work for terror organisations.

According to Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police chief Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Abdur Rehman had met another suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Mohammed Asif in Bangalore.

Asif was arrested from Delhi.

Asif had received a message from a Pakistani al-Qaeda co-ordinator in which he had been asked to discuss with Rahman for recruitment.

A five member police team is leaving Bhubaneswar today to coordinate with the special cell of Delhi police. The team will collect information about Rehman's foreign links and financial transactions. Rehman is currently in 12-day custody of Delhi police.
