Suspected militant, three others arrested in Hyderabad

A special task force of the police has confirmed the arrest of a suspected operative of the banned outfit Harkat-ul-Jihadi Al-Islami (HuJI) in Hyderabad.

Nazir and three others were arrested from the Chanchalguda area of the city.

"We have to still interrogate. Evidence is now only against Mohammad Nazir is having close contacts with Jabbar, who is a leader of HuJI of Bangladesh," said Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Hyderabad, T Prabhakar Rao.

The police also confirmed the recovery of cell phones, four Indian passports, one Bangladeshi passport and several Indian voter identity cards from Nazir.

All four were staying at the residence of Maqsood Ali Khan and he had been asked to arrange Indian passports to go abroad. Rao said that they were plans to go to Saudi Arabia.
