Pakistan's premier all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has said that he is confident of clearing his bowling action assessment test, which is scheduled to be held in Chennai on April 9.

Hafeez was suspended from bowling with immediate effect after the International Cricket Council ruled his action was illegal.

The off-spinner was reported after the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in November, which Pakistan won by 248 runs.

Hafeez, a veteran of 155 ODI internationals, said that he was an ordinary bowler with no special deliveries such as doosra or teesra, but had been effective for Pakistan the way he bowls naturally, the Dawn reported.

Hafeez further said that he had been bowling with the same action since the start of his career, insisting that no objections were raised back then.

The all-rounder admitted that he has just worked to modify his action as per the new protocol set by the ICC.

Hafeez, who had already failed two unofficial bio-mechanics tests, was selected for the World Cup purely as a batsman but had to be withdrawn after injuring a calf muscle.
