England bowling pair James Anderson and Graeme Swann had reportedly ditched their tofu-rich fat-free menu in favour of the popular British fast food item fish and chips, a few days ahead of the winter Ashes.
The duo were given a rare treat as they tucked into the Great British dish and washed it down with Yorkshire Tea after landing on a wet Sunday in Sydney, although they expressed surprise over the fact that their plan of healthy eating as devised by their nutritionist was mocked by the nation once famed for its healthy lifestyle.
According to the Mirror, however, Swann and Anderson defended their snacking on fish and chips, saying that they are allowed the dish occasionally, adding that having it 'once in a blue moon' would not 'kill them'.
Swann further said that some of the players take their diet very seriously as they tend to put on weight if they do not eat healthily, adding that the menu was sent on their behalf to the various Ashes grounds in Australia.
But Swann admitted that having things like fish and chips and Yorkshire Tea remind a person from England of what makes his country so great.
