Former England spinner Graeme Swann has tipped Australia as favourites to win the World Twenty20 but believes that hosts India are the team most likely to topple the Steve Smith-led side in the pinnacle tournament.

In his column for a leading UK-based daily, Swann, who was part of England's victorious campaign in 2010, said that India will have the benefit of knowing the grounds and conditions better than their opposition.

He also identified India's spin attack led by Ravichandran Ashwin and batting star Virat Kohli as their key men.

"Spin will be king and India have a host of twirly men - and none better than the mesmerising Ravi Ashwin, who can open the bowling or apply a squeeze in the middle overs. Harbhajan Singh - the Turbanator - is back as well," Swann was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

"Virat Kohli is the best-looking batsman in the world. Trust me, bowling to him in India is almost unfair on the bowlers. He has every shot, knows all the angles," the 36-year-old added.

Swann also praised India's brilliant fielding on the edge of the 30-yard circle.

India will kickstart their World T20 campaign tonight when they take on New Zealand in Nagpur.
